Tina Louise

Tina Tina Amanda AmandaMaureen was a natural athlete and enjoyed playing tough athletic games. Her inherent ability to perform was the perfect match for her love of sport. As evidenced by being the recipient of nearly every Feis award in drama or musical performances that her country could offer. In the year 14 she was accepted into the famous Abbey Theater and pursued her dreams of performing in classical theatre and operatic vocals. Charles Laughton was mesmerized after taking a Maureen screen examination. He was fascinated by the beautiful eyes she had. Laughton altered the name of Maureen's FitzSimons, from Maureen FitzSimons, to "Maureen O'Hara" that was a diminutive version of her previous name. The name change took place before Laughton decided to use her for Jamaica Inn. Maureen FitzSimons' next movie (The Hunchback of Notre-Dame (1939-1939) was to be filmed in the studio of RKO Pictures in America under the terms of a contract with Laughton. This epic movie was an extraordinary success and the contract of Maureen was taken over from Laughton through RKO. In the year 19 Maureen had already appeared in two major motion films together with Laughton.
